• Who said it - Trump or ML

    In Trump's case, he just wants equality amongst billionaires. They're a higher
    class of person, you know.

    Unfortunately, that just makes him like most every other politician in the
    US these days... certainly most any with aspirations of going to Washington.

    4 years ago, Trump was one of the most vocal people towards a ban of TikTok. But because the CEO of ByteDance, and a bunch of other people who have money invested in it gave Trump money, he's now done a complete reversal of that. Nothing else has changed.

    Exactly. IMHO, he was not wrong about TikTok initially, either. There has been news recently that TT is in trouble in the EU for sending user data
    to China, where TT (and all businesses) are partially owned by the government.

    That was the initial concern here in the US that seems to have been lost in
    the "but free speech" and "livelihood" arguments for keeping it.

    America should NOT be in the business of "owning" businesses that have nothing
    to do with providing public services or running our government. And you should
    not be excited about this prospect, becuase it goes aganst the very tenants of
    capitalism.

    Agreed. That is how China does it.
