Dear Arindam Banerjee: I respectfully have one question for you regarding your compulsive off-topic rant here on physics ~ not that I'm not somewhat interested in your personal wheelhouse of competence and achievement in physics, but realistically it
is somewhat if not conspicuously far afield here and thus glaringly must be serving you some psychological benefit and relief, and I can't help but wonder if you've ever thought about that issue and would you care to expand and explore it here if it's
not too painful?
You are right, it does give my relief if not any benefit (as yet) to post my physics ideas here.
This is an open forum, very rare now with universal headings open to all bypassed with other online media. Which I also use, despite apparent lack of views.
Usenet thus is like a public house, great thing here is that the topics are focussed on a global basis, and uniquely. There is thus no excuse for not knowing the latest rant or idea, for anyone with integrity.
Too bad my physics posts appear as rants to you. I merely repost some links, at times, to defend and cheer myself up and just maybe influence some dynamic and intelligent non-career persons like say a potential Steve Jobs. I know, these people are very
rare, but what chance other than Usenet online posts do I have? The buy one get one, two for the price of one, the bigJew-gujJew Einstein-Gandhi bunny-ah combo pack do their best to suppress me, with stunning success.
No one can say I have NOT tried to disseminate my new ideas, which I believe are of the greatest benefit to posterity. It is sad that the establishments have no use for posterity. Posterity be damned for them. They care for their egos, careers and
snobberies, prejudices and petty personal interests. Robots, after all, they are.
As for the pains involved, they have been very great, especially for my family for they did not know why I was being ignored and ridiculed. I suffered because they suffered. For many years. Now, as I have lost all regard for all the dominant
establishments involving professors, politicians, physicists, pimps, presstitutes and prostitutes, there is no suffering - one does not suffer from what one despises. Just see them as hindrances and potential evils, like viruses.
Hope I made it clear enough, by the above expansion.
~ but getting back to your Newtonian physics and any of its possible justification here, does ANY of its exploration here (i.e. PHYSICS) have any potential or effect on making the public utility meter at my personal domicile ACTUALLY RUN BACKWARDS? Which
would mean DOES ANY OF IT ACTUALLY TRANSLATE to me delivering energy back to my power company so that I can get paid for the power I'm delivering to PACIFIC GAS & ELECTRIC rather than the other way around? IF SO THEN PLEASE PLEASE CONTINUE INDEED and
tell me why I am not seeing the benefit and/or making the connection pedagogically? THANK YOU.
In my case, as I have solar on top of the house, I do get rebate at 66c per unit for the surplus power fed back to the grid.
So it is already happening for me, and as far as I can tell, for many americans as well.
Now the point is, can you generate more power locally with the wheel of Bhaskaracharya, and add that to the solar power to make more money.
Or if you make enough power with solar/wind/wheel can you dispense with power bills?
Or if your car is electric, fuel bills?
Evidently solar is not enough. You need constant power 7*24 at some steady pace, say 5KW for unending joy thanks to the wheel of Bhaskara, and the gravity of Mother Earth.
Let us see if that can happen.
The power is 5KW, or 5000 W. In the video of the wheel, the angular velocity is about 2 radians/sec
Now power = moment of inertia times angular velocity
or 5000 = I * 2
or I = 2500 MKS units.
Let us say that the moment of inertia of the motor armature (come to that later) is 500.
So for the rest (wheel, masses, spokes, shaft) it is 2000.
Let there be 10 wheels welded to a central shaft.
So per wheel, the Inertia is 200.
I is very roughly mass times the square of the radius, with some constant dependent upon the geometry.
Let us say the diameter of the bicyle wheel is 0.6m
Then the mass of the whole thing is some constant times 20/.6^2 = 20/.36 * K = 55*K
Put K = 1, (should be different) then mass of one wheel with bottles containing oil and lead pellets/steel stuff = 55Kg.
Say the rim and spokes make up 5KG, so the ten bottles will weigh 50Kg. One bottle 5 Kg, easy with an al pipe, lead and oil.
Overall it should weigh, with motor, some 55*10 + weight of motor = 600Kg.
Of course, by now the design is clear. You mount ten wheels on a shaft, weld them to the shaft, mount on two good bearings.
Then connect to a generator.
Now give it a whirl manually, maybe some people required for that!
And get 5 KW max power till the end of time
PROVIDED
- you keep up the angular velocity going steady, for external forces like dust on bearings, gusts of wind will slow it all down over time
- bearings do not wear out
- keep free from dust.
Ideal in a basement, the only problem is noise pollution.
And remote areas.
So in future versions, make double walled bottles, or some sound insulation. Also, automatic change from generator to motor, to keep up the angular velocity.
Note: The above calculations are very rough, back on envelope type. But if indeed the wheel works as shown in several youtube videos, this is one way of commercialisng. Overall mass is some 600Kg to get 5KW. It is DIY stuff for anyone with some skills,
but my guess is (taking metal price as $3.5 per Kg) could be sold for $2000 to $3000 if mass produced.
Or $500 per KW, $500,000 per Mw, of totally green power, that could be either localised or grouped wherever.
Cheers,
Arindam Banerjee
